Paul used holy sarcasm to expose pride in the Corinthian church. This devotional reminds us that everything we have is received from God, not earned. True strength is found not in self-confidence, but in humble dependence on Christ.
In a city known for its wild lifestyle and worldly wisdom, Paul reminds the Corinthian church—and us—that our identity, unity, and power all come from one place: the cross of Jesus Christ. Week 2 in our 1 Corinthians study invites us to remember who we are, whose we are, and what it means to keep Christ at the center of our community and our calling.
