Having a prodigal child can bring deep heartache, but it’s important to remember that no one is beyond the reach of God’s grace. The story of the prodigal son reminds us of a loving Father who stands ready to welcome His children home, no matter how far they’ve wandered. As parents, we can come before God, interceding for our child, trusting in His ability to bring them back to Him.
This prayer guide provides 31 days of intentional prayers, each rooted in Scripture, to help you lift up your prodigal child in faith. Through these prayers, you will call upon God to soften their heart, protect them, guide them back to Him, and grant you peace during the waiting. Trust that God is always working, even when we don’t see it, and that His love never fails.
As you complete these 31 days of prayer for your prodigal child, take heart in knowing that God’s love is always at work. The journey of intercession may be long and difficult, but God hears every prayer, and His power to restore is limitless. Trust in His timing and continue to pray with hope and faith, knowing that God loves your child and desires for them to return to Him.
Never lose sight of the promise that God’s love never fails, and no one is beyond His reach. Keep praying, keep trusting, and rest in the assurance that He is working all things for good.

Thank you for sharing these 31 prayers. I have 2 prodigal granddaughters.
Janet, thank you for sharing this so tenderly. I’m so sorry for the ache that comes with watching grandchildren walk far from the Lord—that kind of love runs deep, and so do the prayers.
I’d love to pray for you and your granddaughters:
Heavenly Father, You see Janet’s heart and the two granddaughters she loves so dearly. You know where they are, what they’re carrying, and the paths they’re walking. We ask that Your kindness would lead them to repentance, that Your Spirit would gently draw them back, and that Your Word would not return void. Strengthen Janet as she waits, remind her that no prayer offered in faith is wasted, and fill her with hope as she trusts You with what she cannot control. In Jesus’ name, amen.
Janet, please be encouraged, God is faithful in the waiting. He truly does finish the work He begins (Philippians 1:6). No prayer prayed in faith is ever lost before the Lord. He is near to the brokenhearted and faithful to work even when we cannot see it.
You and your granddaughters are being lifted before Him.
