Scripture
“For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.” (2 Timothy 1:7, NKJV)
Devotional
Paul’s words to Timothy are as strengthening today as they were in the early church. Timothy, a young pastor facing growing opposition, needed this reminder: fear does not come from God. When the pressures of ministry, culture, or uncertainty threatened to paralyze him, Paul called him back to the source of his strength—the Spirit of God within him.
Fear is not a fruit of the Spirit; courage is. God equips His children with everything needed to stand firm in truth and grace. The Spirit He gives produces power to endure, love to serve faithfully, and a sound mind—clarity and peace rooted in trust, not anxiety. Where fear confines, the Spirit liberates; where doubt clouds judgment, He renews the mind with truth.
This verse isn’t a denial of human emotion—it’s a declaration of divine supply. Courage doesn’t mean the absence of fear; it means confidence in God’s presence. Each time fear whispers “you can’t,” the Spirit testifies, “but He can.” We face life’s battles not in our own boldness, but in the steady strength of the Spirit who dwells within us.
The world around us grows louder and more uncertain, but our peace remains anchored in the unchanging truth of who God is. His Spirit empowers us not to shrink back, but to stand up—with power that overcomes, love that endures, and a sound mind that stays fixed on Him.

Prayer
Heavenly Father,
Thank You for the Spirit You’ve given me—not one of fear, but of power, love, and a sound mind. When anxiety rises, remind me that Your presence is greater than my fear. Strengthen my heart to trust You fully and to live boldly for Your glory.
In Jesus’ name, Amen.
